For us to consider you for one of our loans you must meet all the following criteria:

• At least 18 years old
• Regular income from employment, pension or other acceptable income
• UK resident
• UK bank account capable of accepting Direct Debits
• You are not currently bankrupt, subject to an Individual Voluntary Arrangement (“IVA”), or have any Country Court Judgments (“CCJs”)

Meeting our criteria doesn’t mean you’ll automatically be accepted for a loan as we’ll need to look at your individual circumstances to see whether you will meet our lending conditions including being able to afford the repayments over the life of the loan. However, by making sure you meet our eligibility criteria before you apply, you’re a step further towards obtaining your loan.

When you apply to finance your purchase through a loan with us, we will ask you to provide information including:

• Your current address so we can identify and verify you.
• Your email address and telephone number so we can contact you about your application and your loan if approved.
• Your occupation and information about your income and expenditure so we can check if your loan is affordable for you.
• Your bank account number and sort code so we can set up a Direct Debit for your repayments.

A soft credit search (also known as a “quotation search”) is performed when you apply for your loan so that we can take an initial look at certain information on your credit report to decide if you are likely to be successful in your application.

Although this type of search will appear on your credit record, they will only be visible to you. As they aren’t visible to other companies, they will have no impact on your credit score or any future applications you may make.

When you agree to go ahead with your loan, we will record a hard search on your credit file. This means that any company searching your credit record will be able to see that you have applied for credit.

When your application has been received, we will send you an email to confirm we’ve received it, explain next steps and to give you some important information about use of your personal data.

Once we have completed our checks, we will let you know if your application has been successful or not by emailing you. Sometimes, we may need additional information to help us to assess your loan application. A member of our Customer Service Team, or our Business Partner, will contact you if we require any extra information.

If your application is declined, we will write to you to let you know. We’ll also let the Business Partner know that your application has been unsuccessful so that they can contact you to discuss your options to pay for the goods or services.

If you’ve changed your mind, you can withdraw from your Credit Agreement within 14 days starting the day after you signed your agreement. To withdraw from your Credit Agreement, you can email us at hello@buyline.co.uk or write to us at:

If you withdraw from your Credit Agreement and we have already paid the loan amount to the Business Partner, you will have to repay the amount of the loan within 30 days beginning with the day after the date you told us you want to withdraw from it. If you do not repay all amounts (including interest, if applicable) when they are due, the Credit Agreement will continue.

It’s important to understand that withdrawing from the loan does not cancel your purchase. You will need to make separate arrangements with our Business Partner (the supplier of the goods or services) or have another way to repay us if we have already paid the loan to the Business Partner.

Please contact our Business Partner for their Cancellation and Returns policy. Some products cannot be cancelled, for example, made-to-order or bespoke goods, so you should check this before you complete your purchase.

Before you get in touch with us, please contact the business you made your purchase from (our Business Partner) to give them a chance to sort things out for you. Explain to them what’s happened and what you would like them to do to put things right.

If there is a change to your personal information, for example, you’ve moved to a new house, got married or changed your telephone number it is important that you tell us so that we can make sure our records are correct and up to date.

All our Credit Agreements are sent electronically. Once you’ve e-signed, we’ll send a copy to your email address. However, in the event you are unable to locate your agreement please contact us for a copy.
